In 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo has chosen his best XI consisting of teammates he has played with in the past. However, the squad did not include the likes of Ryan Giggs, Mesut OzilOr Carlos Tevez.

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest players to ever grace the game. The Portuguese star has collected a large number of trophies and is currently plying his trade in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr.

He has demonstrated his exceptional talent and versatility in most of Europe’s elite leagues, playing for Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus and Sporting. Over the course of his career, Ronaldo has played alongside some great players as well.

During an interview with Goal Arabia last year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner picked his best XI from among his teammates. The squad featured mostly Real Madrid legends, with a few Manchester United icons as well.

The only Juventus teammate he chose was the club legend Giorgio ChielliniHe is considered one of the best midfielders of his generation.

In goal, Cristiano Ronaldo chose former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas. His back four included Sergio Ramos, Rio Ferdinand, Chiellini, and Marcelo.

The 39-year-old chose Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Paul Scholes in midfield, leaving no space for the likes of Giggs and Ozil. Ronaldo’s top three are occupied by Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, with whom he formed an outstanding attacking partnership at Real Madrid, and Wayne Rooney.

Liverpool Legend Michael Owen has offered his two cents on the never-ending GOAT debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ronaldo have dominated the football world for most of the past two decades. The duo has competed against each other, broken records and soared to new heights.

They are the top goalscorers of all time, with Ronaldo scoring 916 goals and Messi 850, and they have a whopping 13 Ballon d’Or awards between them.

During an interview with TNT Sports Mexico, Owen weighed in on the debate and said (via Bola Vip):

“I naturally think that Messi is the best player I have ever seen. He was just born to be great. At the same time, I like how Ronaldo has worked hard to be as good as him, showing similar qualities and earning his rightful place in this conversation. It doesn’t look like Messi is trying “This is so normal, it’s unbelievable.”
