Christina Haack criticizes accusations of “manufactured drama”.

The estranged couple caused quite a stir last week after a sneak peek at the upcoming show “The Flip Off” showed Josh’s frustration with Christina over their confrontation that turned their household against her first husband.

The HGTV show is set to feature Christina Haack and Josh Hall as the two castmates compete against her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa. However, Josh’s reaction to the teaser encouraged Christina to reveal the sad truth of their time together.

Josh broke his silence about the reality TV show’s teaser on his Instagram Story, highlighting a news article about the fight. The footage was filmed before the estranged couple split in July 2024 and showcased one of the reasons behind their ongoing divorce.

However, Josh pointed out that his heated dialogue with Christina was scripted to boost views and did not capture his true feelings. He called on exhibitors to portray him as the problem with the post’s overlay text, writing:

“Phew when You can’t get enough ratings with (home) celebrity designers, so count on manufactured drama with me, no one. @HGTV, you’ve changed.”

The network did not respond to his accusations, but Christina did so through her Instagram account. She shared a screenshot of his comments along with the response: “Manufactured?! Surely no one at HGTV told you to be rude to me….that was normal.”

Christina’s applause didn’t end there as she called out Josh in a separate Instagram Story post. She gave evidence of the effects of filming with her estranged husband, and shared a selfie of herself crying in the car.

Christina captioned the emotional photo: “This photo was taken on June 21, 2024. After one of our photo shoots with Josh. This is real and a reminder to myself that I deserve better.” Although she wasn’t shown crying in the series’ teaser, the real estate investor seemed to be done with her estranged husband.

In the video, Josh drove the car while Christina looked scowling in the passenger seat. Her estranged husband seemed upset by the confrontation they had with Tarek and Heather, and berated his then-wife for not taking the competition seriously.

“This is a competition. We have to give it our all. Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do it. Holz rules! You’re supposed to say it with me, or repeat it, or whatever it is that shows you’re with me,” Josh told Christina, per Fox News.

Josh had a mostly one-sided conversation with Cristina while trying to get a reaction from her. He seemed upset that she did not respond to his comments about the competition, and reminded her of her status as his wife, saying:

“Remember, you are Hall now. Don’t get confused in this competition over your family name.”

When Christina didn’t respond, Josh said, “You’re a slut.” She finally replied: “I don’t exaggerate in talking.” Her sarcasm sparked further criticism from her then-husband, who added: “Yes, what you’re saying, and I’m just saying, ‘I wish you would just shut up already.'”

Christina and HGTV shared the teaser on their Instagram pages. The footage will be included in the show’s two-hour premiere on January 29. In the comments section of the post, Heather Rae wrote in her support of the TV personality by criticizing Josh, writing:

“Not everyone Makes the cut“This is the real reality.”

“They told me he wasn’t nice to me. Why should I stay here?” She told Tariq: “I feel like I’m in a hurricane all the time, and I can’t get out of it. Everything since 2016 has been so difficult and so terrible.”

“It affected me very badly,” Christina continued, crying. She also apologized to her ex-husband for their bad breakup in 2016, and Tarek admitted that he had a similarly difficult time after their divorce.
