Total GST collection rose 7.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1.77 lakh crore in December, according to government data released on January 1. Liquidations were 3 percent lower on a monthly basis.
Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) collection stood at Rs 32,836 crore, State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) at Rs 40,499 crore, Integrated IGST at Rs 47,783 crore and GST at Rs 11,471 crore.
Total Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue rose 7.3 per cent to Rs 1.77 lakh crore in December compared to Rs 1.65 lakh crore in the same month last year, it said.
During the month under review, GST from domestic transactions rose 8.4 per cent to Rs 1.32 lakh crore, while tax revenue on imports rose by nearly 4 per cent to Rs 44,268 lakh crore.
During the month, recoveries worth Rs 22,490 crore were issued, registering a 31 per cent increase over the same period last year. After adjusting for refunds, net GST collection rose 3.3% to Rs 1.54 lakh crore.
In November, GST clearance stood at Rs 1.82 lakh crore with a year-on-year growth of 8.5 per cent. The highest ever collection was in April 2024 at over Rs 2.10 lakh crore.
During the month under review, GST from domestic transactions rose by 9.4% to Rs 1,40 lakh crore, while tax revenue on imports rose by about 6% to Rs 42,591 lakh crore.
Refunds worth Rs 19,259 crore were issued during the month, registering a decline of 8.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. After adjusting for refunds, net GST collection increased by 11% to Rs 1.63 lakh crore.
In October, GST collections of Rs 1.87 lakh crore were the second best GST clearance with a year-on-year growth of 9 per cent. The highest ever collection was in April 2024 at over Rs 2.10 lakh crore.
