Blinken says he discussed Gaza ceasefire agreement with senior Turkish officials by Reuters

ANKARA (Reuters) – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday that he discussed the need for the Palestinian Hamas movement to say “yes” to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza during his talks with the Turkish president and foreign minister.

Blinken said after his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: “In my discussions with President Erdogan and with Minister Fidan, we talked about the need for Hamas to say yes to the (Gaza) agreement, which could finally help end this matter.” In Ankara.

He added, “We greatly appreciate the role that Türkiye can play in using its voice with Hamas to try to reach an outcome.”
