Former US President Bill Clinton will return home for Christmas after being released from a hospital in Washington, DC, where he was being treated for influenza.
The 78-year-old Democrat was admitted Monday afternoon with a fever.
A spokesman for Clinton said he was released on Tuesday thanks to the care he received at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Clinton sends his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to everyone, the spokesman said. Clinton, who served two terms as president between 1993 and 2001, campaigned this fall for Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential bid.
