Melbourne Stars’ Ben Duckett, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, set the stage on fire with the bat in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against the Sydney Sixers. The match between the two teams will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Thursday (December 26).
England National Cricket Team batsman Ben Duckett came up with a stunning effort for Melbourne Stars and put his team in a dominant position. The opening batting looked strong from the start and put pressure on the Sydney Sixers’ bowlers, resulting in a strong start for his side.
Ben Duckett’s best hit came in the fourth during the innings when he struck out six straight fours
Duckett’s best came at No. 4 during the innings when he slammed six straight sixes against Sydney Sixers’ Akeal Hosein, the No. 1-ranked bowler in T20Is. The batsman gave his best and entertained the crowd big time with his powerful knocks in the 11th match of the BBL 2024-25.
Duckett started again with a boundary over mid-wicket. Akhil Hussain bowled a short throw which the batter bounced and pulled away to hit four. On the next ball, he was unlucky as the ball hit the edge and went to the boundary.
The spinner bowled a short delivery outside off stump, which Duckett appeared to clip late and powerfully. The ball hit the thick edge which flew across the vacant slip zone and went to the boundary, putting pressure on the bowler.
On the third ball, Akhil Hossain bowled a delivery that was out. Duckett adjusted the line and swung it as he played a pull over mid-wicket to complete a hat-trick of fours in the over.
The same result appeared on the fourth ball as well and Ben Duckett bowled a reverse sweep on the fourth ball. Sydney Sixers adjusted the field offside but the batsman got into position and hit this full delivery over backward point.
On the fifth ball, Duckett again came up with a reverse pass but this time it was better, more towards third man. The England National Cricket Team then made sure they finished on a high as they slammed another boundary, completing six overs.
Akeal Hosein came over the wicket and tried to slow it down but Ben Duckett was smart enough to adjust the swing of his bat and delay the high drive. He timed the ball to perfection and hit the fourth-sixth over.
