Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) reported that the newly operating procedures for the Indian team will remain unchanged though Firat Kohlicriticism. Secretary Divajit Sikia stated that family members policy of tours will also remain unchanged.

After a disaster in Australia Tour, BCCI set strict policies for the players. The ruling body provided SOPS from ten indicators, which included limiting the presence of family members during external rounds. However, this was intercepted by Indian players, especially Verat Kohli.

At this stage, the current policy will remain sound, because it is of the utmost importance to both the nation and our institution – Devajit Saikia

According to the policy, family members can accompany the Indian unit members for up to two weeks if the round lasts for more than 45 days. This policy was followed in the ICC 2025 Champions Cup, and some players expressed their dissatisfaction with himself, including Vorat Kohli.

But amid all this, Secretary Divajit Sikia stated that politics will remain sound. He said that although there are different opinions, the policy is uniformly applied to all team members. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:

“At this stage, the current policy will remain sound, because it is of the utmost importance of both the nation and our institution, BCCI. BCCI realizes that there may be some different discontent or opinions, as is the case in democratic preparation, people have the right to express their opinions.

“This policy is uniformly applied to all team members – players, coaches, managers, support staff and all participants – and it has been in mind.”

This policy has not been formulated overnight; He was in place for decades – Davjett Sika

Devajit Saikia added that the policy was present for a while, stressing that the new policy is to amend the previous policy. He added:

“This policy was not overlooked overnight; it was in place for decades, and its history dates back to the days of our president, Roger Benny – and perhaps even before.

“The new policy is an amendment to the previous policy, with additional judgments related to the presence of players in training sessions, matches, tours, luggage, team movements, and other auxiliary activities, all of which target the goal of the team’s cohesion and unity.”

BCCI increased the duration of family members – Devajit Saikia

Devajit Saikia added that they also increased the duration of family members on a tour. He stressed that they would do this through an appropriate process.

“BCCI increased the duration of family members with the players during external rounds, with rulings to relax in the standards under special circumstances, but this is done through an appropriate process,” he said.

India will tour the next England to test five games series. The series will be played after IPL 2025, starting from January 20.
