Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced on Saturday that he will resign in the coming days after the collapse of talks on forming a coalition government. Three political parties – Nehammer’s conservative People’s Party, the centre-left Social Democratic Party, and the liberal NEOS party – took part in the negotiations, which were aimed at marginalizing the far-right Freedom Party, which won the national elections last September.
