Today’s simple crossword wasn’t very difficult, but it had one of those double clues that I hate, where they tell you, for example, that 7-Across is “an adjective paired with 3-Down in a simile.” That’s great, New York Times puzzle makers, if only I actually knew what 3-Down was. Which I don’t do. So I leave out the blanks, move back and forth, and eventually it fills everything in. Need some answers and hints? Read on.
