Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reach a divorce agreement

Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a divorce settlement after eight years, their lawyer told the media.

There was no immediate comment from Pitt’s attorneys when reached for comment, the Associated Press reported.

The couple married in 2014 and have six children.

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The couple became embroiled in a bitter child custody battle in the months following the announcement.

In 2021, the judge awarded joint custody of the children to both parents.

Known as “Brangelina” by fans, the couple met while filming the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

This marriage is Pitt’s second, as he previously married Friends star Jennifer Aniston, and Jolie’s third after actors Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

Jolie has starred in the films Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Changeling and Girl, Interrupted, while Mr. Pitt’s filmography includes Fight Club, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Twelve Monkeys.
