A video of an Ola cab driver watching tutorials on how to make omelettes and Bigg Boss reels while driving on a busy road in Mumbai has gone viral on social media. The footage has raised safety concerns, with accidents involving distracted drivers increasingly highlighted online. The passenger who recorded the video posted it on the X website, accusing the driver of endangering his life with reckless behavior.
“Dear Ola, your driver is learning to cook omelettes while driving at the cost of risking our lives. Your scooters are already on fire, we hope you take corrective action before this bike too catches fire and soon turns to ashes,” Rohan Khule shared the video with the following caption.
The video, taken by Khouli from the back seat, shows the driver’s phone placed next to the steering wheel, playing an omelette-making reel. The driver then swipes up to play the next video, which includes clips from the TV show Bigg Boss, all while continuing to drive.
Expressing his criticism of the driver’s behaviour, Kholi also criticized Ola, citing frequent issues with their scooters catching fire, sparking numerous customer complaints.
The viral video caught the attention of Mumbai Police, who responded to Kholi’s post on Mumbai Police wrote.
After the video went viral, Ola’s support team addressed Kholi’s post, requesting additional details about the taxi driver to look into the incident. “We find this matter deeply concerning, Rohan. Please share the CRN of this flight via direct message so that we can investigate and assist you as soon as possible.
