He added: “We see numbers and it is sometimes tempting to forget that they are real people. And eventually, as the numbers get higher and higher, you can’t stop caring. My friends were hoping for something that would make it easier to browse jobs. I thought, “I’m pretty good at Excel macros, and web assembly.” I could write something that does that.
Now, Satvat has produced a lot of data about the gaming industry, compiled from people who shared their job search efforts with him. He got into gaming himself in his late 30s, and by then, he had real data-handling skills. He started his community with one resource.
Tens of thousands of game job listings

Satvat compiles automatically updated listings with the latest job vacancies in thousands of gaming companies around the world. He “collected” the job listings, combined them into a handy Google Sheet, and posted them to his LinkedIn page. He soon had hundreds of new job listings, rotating listings that were a month old. “I’ve often thought that a lot of the things that can be the most powerful are simple things,” he said. “People over-engineer things. I’ve noticed there are a lot of sites out there to help people, but there’s maybe 100 logins you can do. Or you have to go to the portal and look at the databases.
