Abu Dhabi became the new home of the national cricket team in Afghanistan after the Cricket Council in Afghanistan (ACB) signed a five -year historic deal with Abu Dhabi Cricket and SPORTS HUB (ADCSH). On March 26, ACB has officially confirmed that it would sign an agreement with ADCSH.
The historical partnership makes Abu Dhabi a new place for the Afghan national team until 2030. ACB called for the invitation because they continue to face challenges in hosting international cricket matches on the homeland because of the political situation in Afghanistan ruled by the Taliban.
ACB signs the historical agreement with Abu Dhabi
Over the years, ACB has used alternative places such as Dehdun, LuckNow and Greater Noida in India, along with various locations in the United Arab Emirates, to host the international matches of the National Cricket team. Now, with this agreement, Abu Dhabi will work as a basic center for all ACB training camps, as well as matches that involve Afghanistan A and other national age group teams.
In addition, the ACB will work closely with the Emirati cricket plate (ECB) to ensure that the Afghan teams can host the binary series in different places in the United Arab Emirates. This cooperation will provide them with a stable base to continue competition on the international theater.

ACB has expressed an excitement about the partnership with Abu Dhabi Cricket and SPORTS HUB, describing it as an important step for Afghanistan Cricket. He highlighted that Abu Dhabi’s first -class facilities will play an important role in developing young talents and strengthening their team.

He also admitted the UAE’s continuous support to provide the Afghan team with a stable platform to compete at the international level. “The United Arab Emirates has had a fundamental role in providing us with a platform for competition at the highest level, and I would like to thank the Emirati cricket panel and all places for its continuous support,” said the CEO of ACB.
Nassib also pointed out, “The opportunity to focus now on Abu Dhabi as our training base and our death to participate in the age group will allow us to raise the sporting success of the Afghans and build a strong national future for the cricket game in our country.”
