Drivers are getting a break at the pump this week as the average cost of a A gallon of regular gasoline In the United States to its lowest levels in three years.
AAA Tracking As for national average gas prices, Tuesday morning indicated the cost of a gallon of regular gas was $3.01.
The national average is “excitingly close to falling below $3 per gallon, and that could happen within a few days,” said Andrew Gross, a spokesman for the organization.

Oklahoma, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and Kansas were among some of the states that saw the cheapest prices at the pump last week, AAA said.
This comes as Gasoline final drive Demand showed 8.738 million barrels per day for the week ending November 29 in the United States, according to the Energy Information Administration.
Nationally, the average price of a gallon of gas was less than $3 in mid-May 2021, according to AAA.

GasBuddy, which also monitors fuel prices, said the average cost of gas fell to less than $3 on Monday.

“I think we’re getting close to the bottom,” Patrick De Haan, head of oil analysis at GasBuddy, told FOX Business. “We may stay within five to 10 cents per gallon of today’s national average of $2.99 for the next week or two.
