There are some things you just don’t do in certain parts of the United States. Don’t use bad salsa while driving cattle in Texas. You don’t eat pizza with a knife and fork in New York City. Don’t scream “Belichick is a big fat cheater!” In a crowded bar in Boston (if that’s even true).
And if you are in New Jersey or in America in general, never use the sacred name of Bruce Springsteen in vain in any way. So it’s puzzling that a New Jersey actor would even consider faking his listening habits when it comes to The Boss.
9to5Mac Spotted a strange post on X from U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ). The congressman shared what appeared to be his Spotify Wrapped playlist for the year, with one list consisting of classic Springsteen tracks like “Glory Days” and “Thunder Road” and the other filled with tracks from various hip-hop stars. He tried to bolster his respect for Springsteen in his post by saying “His first concert ever was at the Meadowlands to see The Boss!” Well, it didn’t take long for the internet and anyone who used Spotify to figure out that he had rigged the entire list just to kiss his voters.
Gottheimer’s list included such blunders as inconsistent font sizes, inappropriate spacing between albums in his lists, and the fact that both lists were titled “Your Best Hits” even though one of them only contained Springsteen albums. He didn’t even use the same font type or size for all of his song and album entries.
So how did Gottheimer deal with this musical blunder with the press? He dug his heels in on Springsteen tracks and blamed his two children for the rest. Admit it New Jersey Advanced Media He created a fake Spotify Wrapped list but says the audio clips on each list are accurate because he shares an account with his kids because it’s easier than going back in time and making a family plan.
“This would be like my Spotify Wrapped if I didn’t share my account with my 12- and 15-year-old kids,” Gottheimer told the outlet. “Even though this is Springsteen day for me – don’t get me wrong, I still love listening to Taylor Swift!”
Gottheimer has since removed the post and replaced it with List of Springsteen’s most listened to tracks. He’s trying to save face because he’s there Heated race for governor And if you want a strong shot at moving into the New Jersey Governor’s Mansion, you need to make your love for The Boss widely known throughout the Garden State. If Gottheimer is also going to vote on “the father who makes his kids complain about their music choices,” then he’s banned.
