A strong earthquake hits the island of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean, and bodies were seen in the street

A devastating 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Vanuatu’s main island of Ifati, severely damaging Port Vila and crushing the ground floor of a building housing the US and French embassies. Widespread injuries and destruction, including bodies visible in the streets, were reported, according to the USGS and eyewitness accounts.
