A high-ranking general in the Russian Armed Forces and his aide were killed in an explosion in Moscow.

Russia’s Investigative Committee said Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov, commander of the nuclear, biological and chemical defense forces, was leaving an apartment building early Tuesday when an explosive device hidden in a motorcycle exploded.
