The Association of Professional Tennis players (PTPA) filed a lawsuit against sports government agencies, accusing them of competing practices and ignoring the welfare of the player.

WTA defended her record of growing women’s tennis, describing the lawsuit as “baseless.”

The organization said: “Every decision made at the level of the WTA board of directors includes the inputs of the players through the representatives of the elected board of directors, and the athletes receive large financial rewards and other advantages from participating in the Union of Professional Tennis players.”

Meanwhile, Australian tennis player Nick Kirgius believes that the lawsuit indicates a “special moment” and that it was the voices of the players in time.
