A 14 -year -old woman was imprisoned in Brazil after writing an offensive message in lipstick on a statue during riots in Brazilia.
Debora Rodriguez participated in the turmoil in January 2023, along with hundreds of supporters of former President Gere Bolsonaro.
The riots witnessed thousands of supporters of Bolsonaro attacking government buildings after losing the elections in the previous year.
Judge Cristiano Zanin, one of a committee consisting of five judges overlooking the Rodriguez case, confirmed that she was not only tried for writing on the walls and convicted of multiple crimes.
Rodriguez was arrested as part of a broader investigation into a alleged coup plot against the newly -elected president Lula Da Silva.
It was condemned with multiple crimes, including the destruction of property, the membership of a criminal organization, and the participation of a coup attempt.
39-year-old hairdresser apologized for writing “You lost, a fool” in the statue of justice outside the Supreme Federal Court-an accident called “lipstick coup”.
Rodriguez confirms that she has not participated in any violence.
Earlier from the court, she confirmed that she is a “good citizen.”
“I went to the protests and did not imagine it would be very troubled,” said Rodriguez. “I did not do anything illegal in my life.”
Rodriguez’s lawyers said that no buildings were entered during riots and acted into “the heat of the moment.” She regretted her actions.

Judge Alexander de Morais, who heads the case, argued that Rodriguez “consciously and voluntarily” is compatible with the demonstrators who seek to overthrow the government.
He added that Rodriguez has confessed to participating in anti -democracy acts in her testimony to the police, and that the gaps in the messages on her phone indicate that she tried to hide the evidence.
The case has become a crowd point for Bolsonaro supporters, who look at Rodriguez as a victim of political persecution, and they argue that the Supreme Court has become very strong and partisan.
In February, a video of Rodriguez went on social media. The following month, Bolsonaro shared its post on X, and called for pardoning the participants in the civil disorders in 2023.
Bolsonaro also faces criminal measures about the alleged coup attempt. If he is convicted that he is facing more than 40 years in prison.
