Anna Putin, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said that Panco Santander Saint will continue to give priority to the United States and Latin America, despite the government’s pledges to invest hundreds of billions of euros throughout Europe that may stimulate economic growth.

“We still have a large company in Europe, we see a lot of capabilities over the next few years in Europe,” Putin said in a Bloomberg television interview. “But our focus will remain more on the Americas.”

The largest bank in Spain was appointed in the United States and a new digital bank was launched in the country as well as in Mexico, as it seeks to expand throughout the region. Bloomberg News reported that performing operations in some other countries was less powerful, with the emergence of the United Kingdom as Laggard.

However, governments throughout the European Union intensify public spending, especially for defense. Putin said in the interview that this is “good to grow” in the area.

Putin said that the last American launch of the digital bank, which is called OpenBank, “exceeded our expectations.” She said that the offer now has nearly 100,000 customers, adding that the Spanish lender is planning to transport retail customers in the United States from their current platform to OpenBank One.
