IOC Board restores boxing again on the Olympic program Los Angeles in 2028

The boxing of the 2028 Olympics program in Los Angeles is scheduled to be after years of conflicts on how to run sports.

The head of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, said on Monday that IOC Executive Council, including boxing, agreed to the 2028 program.

It still needs a complete IOC session to sign the decision later this week, but this is usually formally.

The International Olympic Committee organized boxing championships at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and Paris Games last year after the collapse of relations with the International Boxing Association, but said that it needs a new partner in time for 2028.

Last month, the International Olympic Committee realized a new ruling body, global boxing.

Bach said: “I am very confident that the session will agree to it so that it will be for all boxers in the world and then certain that they are able to participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games if their global boxing is recognized in the National Union.”

IOC IBA was suspended in 2019 after long -term disputes over the ruling, its money, and the integrity of seizures and governance, and took the rare step in its exile of the Olympic movement in 2023, shortly after the separation from global boxing.

Since his comment, IBA and its Russian president, Omar Karimif, have continued to disagree with the ICRC, especially on the eligibility rules of women’s boxing in the Paris Olympics.

IBA said last month that she plans to file criminal complaints against the International Olympic Committee in the United States, France and Switzerland.
