Agricola is one of the best table games ever, and it is one of the best examples of workers’ mechanics as well. This concept is simple: Both players use their farms and wife (both of which are called “workers”) to complete different works with the progress of seasons, such as collecting wood or vegetables, upgrading the farm house, building pens, buying animals, giving children and much more. Over time, players have children (more workers to use) and expand their farm. The problem during all this is the scarcity: Agricola is a harsh game. Even without a discount that prevents you from certain procedures, it often seems to be just a bulldozer – get enough food to feed your family for the winter. Players often end with very few (or negative) points in their first game, but when you start learning, she feels incredibly satisfied.
