The Israeli forces killed at least nine Palestinians in Gaza in raids on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is the latest in a series of Israeli attacks on the pocket that maintained despite nearly two months with Hamas.
Since the ceasefire came into force in mid -January, the army has made continuous strikes in Gaza. Israel accused the militants of threatening its forces by placing explosive devices, flying aircraft or by approaching where the Israeli forces are deployed.
Hamas claimed that these attacks have killed more than 150 people since it entered the armistice, at least some of them civilians. Israel has accused of violating the agreement again and again by continuing military operations.
On Saturday, the Israeli army said it had hit two militants who were running a drone that pose a threat, then hit a car carrying others who reached a drone operating equipment. He did not explain how to form a threat to Israeli forces.
Ismail Thawabat, Director General of the Hamas government media office in Gaza, said that the nine Palestinians who were killed in the strike were working for a charity. Identities cannot be verified and placed independently.
The Israeli army said earlier on Saturday that it had hit three militants in the center of Gaza, who were trying to install the explosive devices on the ground near the Israeli soldiers. Officials in the Gaza Ministry of Health did not respond to the requests for suspension.
The constant Drumbeat of Israeli strikes is a reminder that although Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement that stopped fighting in Gaza, the comprehensive truce is still on the horizon. In Lebanon, Israel is conducting a similar air campaign against the Lebanese Armed Group, Hezbollah-Hamas ally-during the ceasefire of the United States there, saying that the Israeli forces are attacking the sites and sites that violated the agreement.
The war began in Gaza after the deadly Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 on southern Israel, which killed about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, according to the Israeli government. About 250 others were returned to Gaza, hostages.
The subsequent Israeli military campaign against Hamas has killed more than 48,000 people, including thousands of children, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. The numbers between civilians, fighters and Israeli military allegations do not distinguish by “canceled” nearly 20,000 Hamas agents.
Israeli leaders say that they will not end the war against Hamas until they drop the group’s rule in Gaza and the region no longer represents a threat to Israel. Hamas has shown some desire to abandon civil rule in Gaza, but it drew a red line to dissolve the armed fighters battalions.
Israel and Hamas are supposed to negotiate the next steps in the ceasefire agreement, which will include a permanent end of the war, the release of the remaining living hostages, and the withdrawal of the full Israeli forces from Gaza.
The mediators, including the United States, Qatar and Egypt, have made great progress so far due to the established differences between the two sides.
The Israeli forces are still spread in a buffer zone inside Gaza and along the Philadelphi corridor, which runs along the Gaza border with Egypt. Under the conditions of the ceasefire, Israel was supposed to withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor by mid -March.
