Although most movies It was bad to Very badit’s a shame Kraven the Hunter It is likely to be The last non-Spider-Man movie The world of Sony Spider-Man. after Morbius, Madame WebAnd three Poison The films failed to do much, Kraven the Hunter So full of Spider-Man references that you can almost see the path towards the Webslinger starting to take shape. It is a path that is now unlikely to be followed. So, with the movie now in theaters, let’s talk about all the Spider-Man connections and suggestions made Kraven the Hunter.
We’re about to get into some majors Craven Spoilers for the movie, so if you’re planning on watching the movie, it’s time to look away.
One of the biggest connections, both figuratively and literally, with Spider-Man in Craven He is a unicorn. Rhino, like Kraven, is one of Spider-Man’s most popular villains and has also appeared in it The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Here, Rhino is the film’s big bad guy, a gangster (played by Alessandro Nivola) seeking to control the land of Kraven’s father, Nikolai Kravinoff, played by Russell Crowe.
Reno, real name Alexei Sytsevich, explains that he can transform into Reno due to a procedure performed in New York by a doctor named Miles Warren. We’ll have much, much more about Warren later this week, but he’s an important character in Marvel Comics and in Spidey’s home of New York. (most Craven The film takes place abroad.) Then, at the end of the film, we learn that Kraven’s brother Dmitri (Fred Hechinger) went to a doctor in New York for surgery and can now physically change his appearance into other people. He is officially the Chameleon, a name given to him several times earlier in the film due to his ability to imitate people. It’s not specified if it was Warren who did this, but Dimitri was the character Reno told Warren about – so we can assume it was him.
This is just the beginning. Three potential members of the Sinister Six – Kraven, Rhino, and Chameleon, two of whom were created by the same mad scientist. Sure, the unicorn dies in the movie, but it’s the world of the comic books. What does death even mean?

Beyond Spidey’s big three villains CravenThere are also two smaller ones. The first is Calypso, played by Ariana DeBose. Calypso is the one who gave Kraven his powers thanks to a secret potion from her grandmother; Later, we learn that she is a trained assassin herself, and learns shooting skills at “summer camp.” She’s a good guy in the movie, but so is Craven.
There’s also the alien, played by Christopher Abbott. In the comics, the alien is a basic assassin/soldier, and here he has a strange power of hypnosis. However, he is hired by Rhino to find Kraven and when he does, he gives him a poison that scares someone into submission by revealing their greatest fear. For Craven, that fear is, drum roll please, spiders. We see spiders start crawling all over his body and falling from the sky. It’s too bad that someone who fights lions and tigers and bears (oh my) is afraid of spiders, but, you know, Spider-Man.
So these are five Spider-Man villains in the movie and an actual link to the Spiders. Is there more? naturally. The film references the Daily Bugle twice, once online and second when the alien brings a copy to a meeting to explain his distaste for Kraven. (Kraven kills his gang’s boss, who is not named but the paper refers to him as “the hit man.”) There are a lot of references to Spider-Man, and while there’s no clear path that leads them all back to Spider-Man, it’s clearly the basis of the work . . Much more than morbius poison, or Madame Web I did too.
Kraven the Hunter The Chameleon then ends up accusing his brother of being evil like him or their father. In the final shot, he wears the character’s famous lion’s coat. Will Kraven finally accept the fact that he is a murderer? Perhaps a second film with the brothers fighting in New York will be explored. An event that will be covered by the Daily Bugle and perhaps by an intrepid new photographer named Peter Parker. They may have met a blind guide, Cassandra Webb, or a famous doctor, Michael Morbius. There may have been another journalist, Eddie Brock, in town at the time. See where all this could go? Unfortunately, though, Craven It may be so.
And no, there’s no post-credit scene. Kraven the Hunter Now in theaters.
