Debra Dillon Redden speaks before her sentencing

according to The sunRedden appeared in court to be sentenced for the viral attack on Tuesday, December 10. According to the outlet, the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to six out of seven charges. He reportedly pleaded not guilty “by reason of insanity to attempted murder of a victim 60 years of age or older.”

Before his sentencing, Redden shared a statement with Judge Susan Johnson.

“…I’ve always gotten into trouble since I was a little kid… I know I’m not a bad person, and I… I think you all know I’m not a bad person. I’m not a bad person,” Redden said. “When I came to court On January 3, 2024, I was listening to music, and I was in a good mood… I see spirits, I hear voices, I’ve been going through this for over a decade, and I feel attacked…”

Ultimately, Redden explained that he was “hearing voices” during his court appearance in January and “all I saw was red.”

like Shadow room Previously reported, on January 3, Judge Holthus was preparing to sentence Redden in Nevada’s Clark County Circuit Court, Las Vegas. He was reportedly there to attempt to commit battery.

During the proceedings, Redden and his attorney reportedly asked the judge to give him a lighter sentence. He noted at the time that despite his criminal history, he had made progress in his life and mental well-being.

However, his appeal to Judge Holthus appears to have been of no avail.

“I appreciate it, but I think it’s time for him to taste something else because I can’t handle this history,” she said.

At that point, Redden jumped toward the judge, landing on top of her as she sat behind the podium.

In February, Redden was reportedly indicted on attempted murder charges following the attack, per Shadow room. In addition, his Fees included Beating, intimidating a public official with threats of force, blackmail, and “disregarding a person’s safety resulting in great bodily harm.”

On December 10, Judge Johnson ultimately sentenced Redden to 26 to 65 years in prison. Additionally, Redden was ordered to pay Judge Holthus $61,318.41 in restitution.

“There is no doubt… you knew the difference between right and wrong,” Judge Johnson reportedly told Redden during sentencing.
