South Africa’s sports minister also called for a boycott of matches against Afghanistan, citing similar concerns about women’s rights under the Taliban regime.

When will BCCI announce Team India?
Amid the boycott call, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla confirmed that the ICC Champions Trophy selection meeting is likely to be held on January 19.
“The Champions Trophy squad will likely be announced on January 19.” Shukla told reporters on Sunday at the BCCI headquarters, immediately after the special general meeting, where Devajit Saikia and Praptej Singh Bhatia were announced as the new Secretary and Treasurer of the BCCI.
As per ICC regulations, all teams were supposed to submit their provisional lineups by 11:59pm on 12 January. However, BCCI can seek an extension. Usually, teams are required to announce their squads a month before the tournament, but this time the ICC has extended the time frame to five weeks. Teams will still have the flexibility to make changes to their teams later if necessary.
