Tesla has finally launched the updated 2025 Model Y in the Asia-Pacific region

Tesla calmly unveil The facelifted Model Y with a new design will help it keep up with competitors like Kia and Volvo. Although currently only available in the Asia-Pacific region, the updated ‘Juniper’ model will likely appear in the US in the coming months. This was the case with the revised Model 3, which debuted in Asia in 2008 September 2023 It went on sale in the United States in January of the following year.

The new Model Y retains the striking dimensions of its predecessor, but looks sleeker thanks to smooth front and rear ends. Smaller headlights trap a thin light strip across the front, with a similar treatment to the taillights. In the case of the lights, the new design language is more in keeping with the Cybertruck than the Model 3.

Many of the Model Y’s internal processors are similar to the Model 3, with one notable exception. Like the Model 3, it gets new ventilated seats, a rear-seat display and a light bar that wraps around much of the car. However, the new steering wheel lacks the turn signal buttons found on the Model 3 – instead, the Juniper Model Y uses a stalk like its predecessor. Tesla may have done this to remain competitive with rivals, especially in China where it faces rival juggernaut BYD.

Tesla offers rear-wheel drive and long-range all-wheel drive versions in Australia, but there’s no Performance option at the moment. It promises a range of up to 342 miles (551 km) on the WLTP cycle on the Long Range model, or about 307 miles on the US EPA. However, US models can have different battery specifications and therefore different range numbers.

The new model arrives just in time for Tesla. In 2024, the company witnessed its debut Decrease in vehicle deliveries Since 2012, though, it has improved in its main market, China. The redesigned Model Y will begin shipping there in March 2025 and will likely arrive elsewhere within several months, though the company has not yet set a U.S. delivery date.
