Add a little nostalgia to your office with customizable pixel art lights

Have all the RGB lights and excessive gaming gear on your desktop made you long for a simpler, more refined gaming experience? Govee’s latest lighting products, the Gaming Pixel Light and Mini Panel Lights, offer the best (or perhaps the worst) of both worlds. The Pixel Light in particular comes with a modern spaceship-like aesthetic while having all the faux LED pixels to remind you of the 8-bit era.

Govee’s latest lighting product is tuned specifically for gamers with its wide frame and decals. Although the Govee has a 32 x 32 pixel count, it – thanks to the modern power of LEDs – is able to depict images with a much more diverse color palette than a traditional NES game ever could. It has more than 150 preset scenes, including a clock or weather display. The frame supports still images and GIFs at up to 30 frames per second, which you can create and edit through the app.

If you’ve ever seen Divoom’s list of artistic speakers and wall graphics, you’ve probably felt a little surreal. Divoom products, e.g TimeBox Evo And the non-speaker Wall art 64 x 64 pixels, It involves creating your own pixel art and animation and then setting it to music. What sets Govee’s box apart is the sci-fi aesthetic that may be a better fit with some desktop setups than others. You can also use Govee’s in-app AI to create a pixel art using a prompt, although creating a 32 x 32 pixel art image requires so little effort that you might ignore the AI’s capabilities entirely.

Better yet, you can connect the frame to a Govee HDMI 2.1 Sync Box and the Govee app. This lets you stream on-screen gaming images to the Gaming Pixel Light, displaying your detailed 3D gameplay in faux 2D art. Govee said its Gaming Pixel Light will also recognize music playing through its speakers and change visuals based on the tempo and tempo of the music.

Govee said the Gaming Pixel Light will be available sometime in the second quarter of this year.
