The six-day funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter began today, Saturday, with a procession through his state. Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia, on December 29 at the age of 100, and is scheduled to be buried next to his late wife, Rosalynn Carter, after he lies in state at the U.S. Capitol.
