Telegram introduces third-party verification and new search filters

Telegram has introduced a new third-party account verification system as part of the app’s latest update, the company announced on Blog post. The idea is to allow public figures or companies already verified by Telegram in turn to verify others, for example employees in the organization. “This decentralized platform for additional verification will help prevent fraud and reduce misinformation – with a unique proactive solution that sets a new security standard for social media platforms,” Telegram wrote.

Individuals or groups that want to be able to verify others must already have an official bot verified by Telegram. Once this happens, they can apply to become a third-party verifier on Telegram. They are also required to have a unique icon (plain, simple, solid color) that will appear next to the names of the accounts they are verifying.

Any accounts verified this way will have this logo next to their name, and when you open their profile a detailed explanation of this status and what it means will appear.
