The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Nasdaq will participate in the National Day of Mourning for the late President Jimmy Carter on January 9 by closing their markets.
The New York Stock Exchange, NYSE American Equities, NYSE American Options, NYSE Arca Equities, NYSE Arca Options, NYSE Chicago and NYSE National will not operate on January 9, in honor of the former president, the New York Stock Exchange said Monday.
All Nasdaq stocks US stock and options markets Nasdaq separately said it would likewise close on that day.
Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has died at the age of 100
Carter, who served in the White House from 1977 to 1981, died on Sunday. He was 100 years old.
