The mysterious predictions of French astrologer and seer Michel de Nosterdam, better known as Nostradamus, have captured people’s imaginations for centuries.
Many believe that his more than 900 quatrains in Les Prophéties, written in 1555, predict important world events. His predictions were linked to the rise of Napoleon, the two world wars, and even modern technological progress. The massive earthquake that struck Japan last New Year was also attributed to the foresight of Nostradamus.
For 2024, Nostradamus’s predictions included a new pope, war with China, the abdication of King Charles, and apocalyptic events linked to climate change. As the year 2025 approached, interest in his prophecies increased, as people revisited his works in the hope of revealing new insights. Here’s a look at his predictions for 2025:
England’s struggle with war and disease
One of Nostradamus’ predictions reads: “When those who come from the lands of Europe see England placing her throne behind her. And in her wings there will be cruel wars. The kingdom will be marked by very cruel wars, and enemies from within and without will arise. A great plague from the past returns, and there is no more deadly enemy under the sky.” .
This suggests that England may face a dual crisis in 2025: brutal wars and the resurgence of a long-forgotten plague.
Global political conflicts
The Sufi predicted a time when “great powers will clash,” which may be a reference to the many ongoing conflicts around the world. He also predicted “the decline of the influence of established Western states and the rise of new global powers,” which reflects current shifts in global politics.
Medical progress
Not all of Nostradamus’s predictions are so bleak. He predicted great progress in medicine, especially in preventing and treating diseases.
