Corporate social responsibility (CSR) increased by the companies listed on the main NSE board of directors by 16 % to 17,967 rupees in 2023-24 compared to 15,524 rupees in 2022-23, according to Primeinfobase.com.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Law, which entered into force in April 2014, imposes companies, in accordance with the provisions of the law, to invest two percent of their net profit in companies social responsibility. Companies worth 500 rupees and above or revenues of 1,000 rupees and above a net profit of 5 rupees and above, must spend two percent of their net profits in the past three years.

“This was due to an increase of 18 % in net net profit (for a period of 3 years of previous) from these companies, 2 % of which must be spent on CSR activities according to organizational requirements, followed by 3 years of strict deals, from RS 14,751. 2022-23,” said Branaf Haldia, the administrative director of his viewpoints on growth in spending social responsibility.

According to Primeinfobase.com, 2013 company was listed in the main NSE Council as on March 31, 2024. Among these 2013 companies, annual reports were issued from 202-24 by 1966 companies. Among these companies of 1966 companies, 1944 had details of the social responsibility of the companies contained in the annual reports, while there were no such details for balance 22. Finally, out of 1944 companies, 1,394 companies were obligated to spend on companies social responsibility, up from 1,297 companies in 2022-23. This analysis is based on these 1,394 companies. The average net profit of these 394 companies over the past three years has reached 9.62 rupees, an increase of 8.14 rupees in the fiscal year 23.

The data also highlighted that the 10 best companies in terms of spending CSR in the fiscal year 24 include HDFC (945.31 rupees), Relination Industries (900 crusher), TCS (827 Crores), ONGC (RS 634.57 Croissant), Tata Steel (RS 580.02. (457.71 rupees), Infosys (455.67 rupees), ITC (404.05 rupees) and Grid Corporation in India (330.48 Crores Rs. Roba), followed by health care (720 rupees).

Hakima, Maharashtra (266.14 rupees) received the maximum CSR spending from India Inc. It was followed by Rajistan (242.58 rupees), Tamil Nadu (215.13 rupees), Gogarat (210.49 rupees), Telangna (RS 136 Core), (120.74 Crurax Rubia), Uttar Pradesh (118.24 rupees), Chaphansiah (118 Crura Ruby) and Haryana (112.23 crushers Ruby). These ten cases constituted 60 % of the total company’s social responsibility spending.
