Hindustan Zinc Ltd (Hzl), the Vedanta group, places its scenes on potash mining. The mining specialization looks forward to a mass in Rajasthan not only carries the potential potential, but also may result from lithium, a critical metal that acquires a global traction. This step represents a major transformation of HZL because it looks outside its traditional stronghold in zinc, lead and silver.

The company plans a wide expansion of critical minerals of strategic importance, as well as basic minerals. Hindustan Zinc has been recently announced about the preferred bidder of Dugcha Gold Block in Rajasthan, which strengthened his wallet in precious metals.

“So all the critical metal blocks, as I said, we got gold … block, we got the Tungstin mass. So Hondosan Zinc will expand beyond zinc and silver,” Aronistan, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, told PTI.

“We will expand in all critical minerals, whichever is of strategic importance to us, including not only minerals, including potash … potash is present in Rajstistan … (there) also chances of the Lithium Association there (in the potash block). So we will look at it,” added. “

More diversification of its asset base, Hindustan Zinc won the Balibalame Tingstin Blockage Award in Andra Pradesh. The company is actively preparing to participate in all the auctions of the upcoming metal block in India, with exploration efforts led by Hindmetal Exploration Services PVT LTD, which focuses on strategic metals.

“I am sure that they (the company) will turn into the largest private explorer in relation to India,” Maysara explained.

India is currently dependent on the pots imports, especially from Russia, Canada, Belarus and Israel.

On April 25, HZL recorded a 47.3 percent increase in a standardized net profit to 3,003 rupees for the quarter ending in March 2025, driven by standard metal sizes and low production costs. She recorded a clear profit of 2038 rupees in the same period in the previous year.

Hzl is still the largest producer of integrated zinc in the world and ranks among the five best silver producers in the world. The company provides more than 40 countries and tops about 77 percent of the basic zinc market in India.
