‘Exhausted’ Amazon delivery driver dumps 80 packages in wooded area: police

“After further investigation, Sergeant Sean Robert determined that it was three large bags full of Amazon packages spread out several feet in the woods,” she said in a statement. “Police officers loaded the bags onto a pickup truck and took them back to the Lakeville Police Department, where they took an inventory of approximately 80 packages.”

An Amazon delivery driver then visited the police department the next day and “reported that they had left the packages on the side of the road at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday because they were stressed,” according to authorities.

Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins added, “At this time, we are not seeking criminal charges and consider this to be an Amazon human resources matter.”

The incident comes as Teamster drivers expand their strike against Amazon after the company’s “repeated refusal to follow the law and bargain.”

However, Amazon has remained steadfast, insisting that it has no intention of sitting down with the Teamsters because, in their words, they “do not represent any Amazon employees.”
