The local police said that “a number of people were killed” after a car was pushed into a crowd in the Canadian city of Vancouver.
Vancouver police said that “many others” were injured during an accident at a street festival on Saturday evening.
The force said the driver is in the reservation.
The number of people who were killed has not yet been known.
In a post on X, the police said, “A driver traveled to a crowd at a street festival on E. 41st Avenue and Fraser” after 20:00 in a short time on Saturday (03:00 GMT Sunday).
“We will provide more information with the development of the investigation,” a statement.
Local media reported that a group of infantry had a car during the annual Labu Labu Festival, which celebrates the Filipino culture.
Unreasonable footage showed on social media a number of police cars, ambulances and fire engines at the scene, with people injured on the ground.
“He was very shocked and saddened by the horrific accident at the day of Labo Labu today,” Vancouver Ken Sim, in a statement from X.
He continued: “Our thoughts with all the affected people and with the Filipino Vancouver community during this hard time is incredibly.”
