LONDON (Reuters) -Britain can get 400 billion pounds (533 billion dollars) of the growth moved by artificial intelligence if the workforce is trained, after a pilot plan in the UK showed that workers can save more than 120 hours annually using artificial intelligence in administrative tasks.

Google said in a report on its experimental plan, published on Friday that simple steps such as giving workers permission to use artificial intelligence and a few hours of training to start can help double the adoption of new technology, and in turn enhance economic growth.

The American technology giant, who developed Gemini Ai Chatbot, said that according to the analysis conducted by Public First, its partner in the plan, no third of the workers – especially the older women of low economic backgrounds – used Amnesty International at work.

Deby Winstein, President of Google in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said that pilots working in artificial intelligence – which was conducted in a small commercial network, educational funds and union – showed that workers may provide 122 hours on average a year using artificial intelligence in administrative tasks.

But one of the obstacles preventing some from dipping the toe in the water was a source of anxiety because the use of artificial intelligence in their job was not legitimate or fair.

“People wanted to read,” Winstein said in an interview. “Is it acceptable for me to do this?” Thus, giving them this reassurance was really important. “

She said that as soon as they started, a few hours resulted in the training of artificial intelligence to build their confidence in their use of technology twice, and they were still using it after several months.

These simple interventions helped narrow the gap of adopting artificial intelligence among the participants in experimental studies.

Before training, for example, only 17 % of women over 55 years have been used in its AI groups per week and only 9 % per day.

After three months, 56 % used it weekly and 29 % made it usually daily.
