Eni Awlo apologizes for criticizing Ian Wright and says that his support for the woman’s match was “important”

“In my interview with the woman’s hour this week, I was trying to clarify a broader point about the limited opportunities for women in football – whether it is in training, broadcast or commercial spaces – and the importance of creating more space for women to flourish on the field.

“But it was wrong to raise the name Ian in that conversation, and for this I apologize with sincerity. I knew and worked with Ian for many years and I have nothing but love and respect for him.”
