Aid Agency warns that people eat coal and leave to survive

The BBC Relief Agency said that the Sudanese people are eating papers and coal to survive after fleeing an attack on a displacement camp near the city of Al -Fashr.

“The stories we hear are really horrific,” Noah Taylor, head of the Norwegian Refugee Council Operations, told BBC’s Newsdays.

Mr. Taylor added that people flee from the Chen to Toyla, but they die “upon arrival.”

He said that some were “dying of thirst”, while he was making a trip 40 km (25 miles)- from the Zamzam camp at “continental” temperatures.

“We have heard stories still there are bodies on the road between hatching and Toyla.

“We talked to a family that told us about a girl who walked on foot by herself from the knight, she was raped again and again throughout the trip, then she died of her wounds when she reached Tula.”

The separation is the last city in the western Darfur region of the army under the control of the army and its allies. Earlier this month, the semi -military rapid support forces (RSF) attacked the nearby Zamzam camp, forcing tens of thousands to flee their temporary shelters.

There were many Zamzam population there for two decades, after escaping from previous conflicts in Darfur.

RSF has been fighting the army over the past two years in a war that has killed tens of thousands and forced about 13 million people from their homes.

Relief agencies say they are the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.

After destroying the Zamzam camp, it was “completely destroyed”.

Mr. Taylor also warned that Topila was struggling to deal with the flow of people fleeing their homes.

“There is very little on the path of food, there is only very little on the way of water,” he said, adding that the small city currently protects about 130,000 to 150,000 people.
