The health of the former President of Brazil Gear Bolsonaro after bowel surgery earlier this month, according to his medical team.
The 70 -year -old is still in intensive care and will undergo new tests.
Polsonaro was visited in the hospital by a court official on Wednesday, who gave a summons given by five days to bring his first defense against the coup charges, in preparation for his trial.
Bolsonaro was ordered to trial after charges of being charged with an alleged right -wing coup attempt After losing the 2022 presidential election to the left president Lula da Silva.
In a video clip of the summonses that are being delivered, Bolsonaro can be seen fiercely, saying: “I have five days to introduce defensive?”
During the alleged coup attempt, Polsonaro supporters stormed government buildings. Police investigations made allegations that he had held personal talks – including numbers of the armed forces – about the idea of a coup to adhere to power.
The former bowel surgery was in response to the ongoing health issues after he was stabbed in 2018 at the Campaign’s path in the southeastern Minas Gerais state.
He lost about 40 % of his blood and performed emergency surgery, as the perpetrator later announced that he was mentally inappropriate for trial.
He has repeatedly denied the allegations of the coup and accused his opponents of searching for the political witch.
A day before he was delivered in the hospital, he recorded a live broadcast on YouTube from his hospital bed with three of his sons, despite the doctor’s recommendation that there are no visitors.
The Brazilian Supreme Court argued that this showed that he was able to summon and notify.
Bolsonaro was hoping to challenge the presidential elections again in 2026, despite the current ban on running for the position, but he risked a 40 -year prison sentence if convicted.
