About half of the Americans have a negative view of Tesla and Eileon Musk, and you find CNBC scanning

The wide audience and investors have something common these days: they have no much love for either of them Timing Or CEO Elon Musk.

Tesla shares have undergone a filling sale, and finds the CNBC All-MARICA economic survey more than 47 % of the audience a negative view of the company. Another 27 % positive on the electric car maker, while 24 % are neutral. This compares with a third of the audience who have a positive vision of General Motors with 51 % neutral and 10 % negative.

Tesla was pressured with anxiety that his controversial political activities of its founder in cutting government workers and supporting President Donald Trump and the Republicans could alienate potential buyers. Protests have emerged throughout the country in Tesla offices.

The survey found that musk is a very polarized personality. Half of the audience has a negative vision of musk, compared to 36 % who see positively and 16 % who are neutral. Among the Democrats, the net approval of Musk (negative positive) is -82 and -49 for independents. The Republican Party is +56.

The biggest problem in Tesla may be that many potential customers groups are more positive around electric cars than the company.

“As Tesla is among the least likely to buy EV,” said Mika Roberts, a partner in public opinion strategies, a republican survey expert.

Overall, 35 % of Americans are negative on EVS and 33 % positive. Men, however, is +11 in net approval of EVS but equally divided into Tesla. Young people between the ages of 18 and 34 years on +19 on EV but -23 on Tesla. The gap is tougher between Democrats, who are +20 on EV but -74 on Tesla.

What makes the case more complicated: Republicans are very positive on Tesla, but it is negative on EV.

1,000 people worldwide were surveyed from April 9 to April 13 and has an error margin +/- 3.1 %.
