Dutch semiconductor equipment company Asml On Wednesday, he missed the net reservations expectations, indicating a possible slowdown in demand for decisive chips.
ASML has recorded net reservations of 3.94 billion euros ($ 4.47 billion) for the first three months of 2025, compared to Reuters, a forecast of 4.89 billion euros.
Here’s how ASML is for LSEG Consensus estimates for the first quarter:
- Net sales: 7.74 billion, compared to 7.8 billion euros expected
- Net profit: 2.36 billion, compared to 2.3 billion euros expected
The CEO of ASML, Christophe Fukete said on Wednesday that the demand expectations are “still strong” while artificial intelligence remains as a major letter. However, he added that “uncertainty with some of our customers” can take the company to a minimum level of its revenue instructions for the entire year of 30 billion euros to 35 billion euros.
Global chips shares have been fragile over the past two weeks, amid concerns about how the US President Donald Trump Customs tariff plans will affect the semiconductor supply chain.
Last week, the American administration announced smartphones, computers and semi -conductors that will be temporarily exempt from the so -called “mutual” duties on the opposite parties. But on Sunday, Trump and his most important commercial officials created a confusion with the comments that there would be no “exclusion” of a tariff for the electronics industry, and that these goods were instead to a different “bucket”.
On Tuesday, the federal government’s notification announced that the US Department of Commerce was conducting national security in imports of semiconductor technology and relevant products. The investigation will study whether additional commercial measures, including definitions, are “necessary to protect national security”.
