At least 18 people died and more than 120 people were wounded after the ceiling collapsed at a nightclub in dominican republic Early Tuesday, the authorities said.
Juan Manuel Mendes, director of the Emergency Operations Center, said the crews were looking for rubble in a plane in Santo Domingo for potential survivors.
He said: “We assume that many of them are still alive, and for this reason the authorities will not surrender here so that one person does not remain under this rubble.”

He said: “We regret the tragedy that took place in a group nightclub.
According to Associated Press, an official stood outside a hospital where the victims were treated, and he called the survivors’ names to a crowd looking for their loved ones.
The cause of the ceiling collapsed is under investigation.
