In 2001, ANUPAM MITTAL was demobilized from his job in the United States, where Dot -com collided with technology dreams overnight. “I had no backup plan,” wrote on LinkedIn. “I still remember that walking from the office. It was not long, but it seemed to be a free fall.”
The loss was not only financial. “I lost most of them anyway in the accident. But because for the first time in many years, I had no idea what happened after that.”
Strong uncertainty. “I also felt that I lost my identity,” Metal shared. Like many, he was initially rising to frustration – “to blame the economy, curse my luck, and refreshing jobs as they would have fixed my life.”
But something turned. He said: “Some of the motivational quotes or Steve Jobs’s video (these came later).” “It was just a question that was scared in my notes -” What will I build if I had nothing to lose? “
This only question raised a new direction. “I was not clear or confident. But I was excited.”
Metal stopped applying for jobs and started construction. No savings, no high energy mesh. Just family support and phone call connection. “One rough location. One small step at a time.”
A few years later, this small fog project has become Shaadi.com, the reconciliation platform that re -defined how India and the world thought about marriage.
“I do not tell you this of romantic failure,” he wrote. “It was brutal> No savings, no fictional network. I just, my cousins, their commitment and the call of the phone.”
But the ready -made meals were permanent: “Work is the main domino. You take one step in a direction that excites you – even if you are afraid. Life begins to move again.”
In his opinion, the momentum outperforms perfection: “People exaggerate the assessment of the strategy and reduce momentum. We are waiting for clarity, financing, or perfect timing. But what I learned over the years is that clarity does not come before work. It comes from work.”
