Pope Francis revives the crowds in Saint Peter’s Square

Pope Francis rose A surprise appeared in the Saint Peter Square in the Vatican after being discharged from the hospital after five weeks of treatment.

The Pope briefly appeared on the stage in a wheelchair, with the oxygen tube under his nose.

“Hello everyone,” he said, waving the crowds. “On Sunday, I am happy with all of you, thank you very much.”

The Pope, 88, was discharged from the hospital in Rome on March 23 and appeared at his window and then gave a blessing.

Doctors said at the time that he would need at least two months of rest at his residence. On Friday, the Vatican said that his health was improving and was “in a good morale” as he continued his activities.

The Pope was accepted to the hospital on February 14 due to an infection that resulted in dual pneumonia. One of his doctors said that he had two computer episodes during his treatment, as his “life was in danger.”

As of Friday, the Pope had improved a little bit in breathing, movement and speaking, and the Vatican said. Recent blood tests also showed a slight improvement in lung infection.

The Pope requires less supplementary oxygen, but it continues to receive it during the day. At night, he receives a large flow of oxygen through its nose as needed.

He suffered a number of health issues throughout his life, including a part of one of his lungs at the age of 21, making him more vulnerable to infection.
