The Hamas Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that more than 50,000 Palestinians were killed during the military campaign of Israel in Gaza.

This number – 50,021 – is equivalent to about 2.1 % of 2.3 million population before the war in the region, or about 1 out of 46 people.

The Ministry of Health said that a total of 113274 others were injured in the same period.

Figures were used by the Ministry of Health in Gaza (MOH) on a large scale during the war and are seen as reliable by American institutions and international institutions. But Israel has constantly refuted the data published by the Gaza authorities.

International journalists, including the British Broadcasting Corporation, are prevented by Israel from entering Gaza independently, so they cannot verify personalities from either side.

Do not differentiate the numbers issued by the Ministry of Health for the number of people who were killed between civilians and fighters.

In November, the United Nations Human Rights Office said Nearly 70 % of the verified victims over a period of six months of women and children.

In January, Lancet Medical Magazine published a study proposed The death toll can actually be largely higher One of the official numbers informed by Moh – up to 41 %.

The war arose due to Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, where about 1,200 people, especially civilians, and 251 others were killed.

Israel responded to the October 7 attack with a huge military attack, causing great destruction of homes and infrastructure, as well as those who were killed or injured.

The Ministry of Health also stated on Sunday at least 39 deaths in the past 24 hours, which led to the total number of people who have been killed to 673 since Israel resumed its military operations in the region on Tuesday.
