The Beck brothers are arguably the Duttons’ most effective rivals in “Yellowstone.” They show up in Season 2, kill the family’s livestock, kidnap Tate Dutton (Breckin Merrell), leave him with a neo-Nazi militia, and send masked men to attack Beth Dutton. Naturally, the family responds with more violence, sending Casey Dutton (Luke Grimes), a military-trained assassin, to plant a bomb on the enemy plane. Smart plan, right?

Despite the importance of the Duttons’ intent to blow up the plane, the story has been dropped unanswered. Instead, the Peck brothers die the old-fashioned way, with Casey shooting Till Peck (Terry Serpico) while he’s on the toilet, and John Dutton (Kevin Costner) having a final showdown with Malcolm Peck (Neal McDonough) that ends the villain’s death. He dies pathetically. We’ll never know if the plane exploded or not, as the show never picked up the story after Casey informed John that he planted the explosive.
